Archive for March, 2010

So in the midst of preparing for a giant album launch, we are a day away from John Reilly’s big day.. his wedding!!  It has been a busy busy time ever since we got back from Nashville to record our album.  We’ve received probably the final master revision of the CD and it sounds kickin… Here are some events coming up to keep your eyes on:

1) VIP Private Listening Party of the new album and special meet and greet with the band… most likely April

2) First single off of new album will be released in early May.

3) Album release 1st or 2nd week in June?  CD release concerts in the works.

In case you missed it, the new album is called AROUND THE WORLD. more info to come on the meaning of the title…

BUT ONCE AGAIN the big news is Mr. Reilly is unfortunately moving off the chopping block and will be off the market. 😉  Tomorrow is a big day for him and his Bonnie so please raise a drink and have a toast for the wonderful couple!!   To get you in the wedding spirit, here’s a video from one of our inspirations…

sobering words

Good morning. Here’s a sobering passage that I read just now…

2 Peter 2:
17These men are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. 18For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. 19They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him. 20If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,”[f]and, “A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud.”

This past Saturday we played at the Vision Conference in Lancaster, PA.  It’s a conference dedicated to helping equip the youth of this generation to reach all the nations (here, there and everywhere) with the Gospel (God’s plan to save us from our sins through Jesus).   This is our 2nd year doing so and we had an unbelievable time once again.  We led worship and then played a concert at night with Stellar Kart but just being involved and being reminded through great teaching (via Jeremy Kinsgley. big ups) of our role in GOING.  Jesus had a heart for the nations and so did the disciples and the early church.   We can pray for the harvest to happen,  and also pray to see how God will involve us in the Harvest.

Personally I’ve also realized how important it is for me to share the most important thing in my life with the people around me too.    I’ve had dreams lately of very close friends who I haven’t shared the Gospel with and I realize I need to be the best friend possible even if it gets awkward or weird (what friendship doesn’t ever get weird or awkward anyway.  the best ones do!).

Here’s a website that Matthew (bassist) and his twin brother made up along with one of our church pastors.  It’s a good questionnaire that helps people understand what the basics of Christianity are and how it applies to real life.  Feel free to spread it around:

I just downloaded WordPress App for Blackberry and can now post blogs straight from my phone! Awesome.

Why is it that with increasing technology to reach people, that we feel like we’re becoming more and more “alone?” I love this app because I want to share what’s happening with us and the band in a matter of seconds anywhere in the world. But I also lack much more face to face communication…

Since I don’t work in an office, my goal is to have a good lengthy (like 16 min) conversation with someone other than my wife (she gets 23 min) each day. Possible? Probably not honestly. (Just kidding about the wife time limit)

But it’s a start. Anybody feeling me on this? Let’s reach out and touch someone. And it could get awkward!

25 min. Maybe 30… Total.

Sike. I’ll end up on Marriage Ref soon. Hehe

Name that song…

So we are one week removed from wrapping up recording the album and have enjoyed being back home in the suburbs of Philadelphia.  This past week has been spent catching up with family members, friends, and doing the things that you love about home like going to your favorite local coffeeshop (not Starbucks) and seeing familiar faces greet you.

It seems like a dream that we spent 5 weeks in Nashville. a good dream.  I was telling my brother-in-law that there’s nothing better than waking up each morning, going into an awesome studio, and making music.   I count it a great blessing to do what we do.  Whether or not we become the next Taylor Swift or Jonas Brother is inconsequential (by the way, I spelled that right the first time… it’s that good ol public school education 😉 ).  We love what we do and realize it’s a privelage.  No question about it.

So home is here and we’re now in high gear working on finishing up mastering the CD (where they make the sound POP) and also working on Album Artwork.   Since Matthew (bass player) is our graphic designer, we spend a lot of time over this kind of stuff and take it to heart.

We’re also working on promotion ideas, release dates, and BOOKING OUR TOUR.  We’ll be everywhere between New Jersey and California this summer so if you want us in your town, give me a shout.

Enjoy your weekend.  Love you guys/gals.

The Beard Contest

Besides the first 15 years of life, this has been the longest time I have not shaved.  That may not be a big deal for most of you men out there but for someone who is Asian and can’t grow a lot of facial hair, this was superb.  We have just wrapped up recording the NEW ALBUM on Friday which was a 5 week process.  The band decided not to shave during the entire process just for fun.   It was some type of camaraderie (is that the right word? spell check seems to think so) between the guys and we capture it on film…

NOTE: This may disturb some of you… especially the end…

Tell us who you think won!
